Sleep of Mind wants to give parents calmer nights, with organic sleepwear and sleep guidance shaped by its founder's own experience.

The story

Alison Macklin, a certified child sleep expert based in Canada, founded Sleep of Mind after her daughter's difficult newborn sleep. Since 2017 she has worked to help other families avoid what she went through.

Its Breathing Reassurance swaddles, sleep sacks and pajamas are designed to reflect the infrared light of a night-vision baby monitor, so breathing movement is easier to see on screen. They have no batteries, sensors or apps.

The sleepwear is made from GOTS certified organic cotton and is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified. Sleep of Mind also sells a guide to baby sleep from newborn to 24 months.

About Sleep of Mind

Is Sleep of Mind fair trade?

Sleep of Mind's sleepwear is made from GOTS certified organic cotton. GOTS covers organic textiles through every processing stage and sets social criteria for the factories involved, but it isn't a fair trade label, so The Labour Movement also vetted Sleep of Mind against our fair trade standards before listing it. We review every brand each year.

Is Breathing Reassurance sleepwear a breathing monitor?

No. It has no electronics, batteries or alarms. It's organic cotton sleepwear designed to make breathing movement easier to see on a night-vision monitor, and it doesn't replace safe sleep practices.

What is OEKO-TEX Standard 100?

A label showing that every part of a textile, down to the thread and fasteners, has been tested for harmful substances.
