Beautyologie wants shoppers to know where their beauty ingredients come from, who produces them, and how a purchase affects those people.
The story
Robin Tolkan-Doyle, a beauty industry veteran of nearly 30 years, founded Beautyologie in 2021 after a trip to India, as a marketplace for fair trade beauty. In 2024 she launched WOO™ World of Oils, its own line of single-ingredient oils.
Each oil traces back to a place and the people who produce it: apricot oil from Adivasi women in India's Araku Valley, argan oil from women of the Akkain Ouargane cooperative in Morocco, and rosehip oil from Mapuche and Patagones women in Chile.
The oils are organic and cold-pressed, and come in 3.4-ounce tins sized for carry-on bags. WOO is based in Calabasas, California.

About Beautyologie
Is Beautyologie fair trade?
Beautyologie doesn't carry a fair trade certification on The Labour Movement. Its WOO oils come from women producers and cooperatives in India, Morocco and Chile, and The Labour Movement vetted the brand against our fair trade standards before listing it. We review every brand each year.
Where do WOO oils come from?
Apricot oil from India's Araku Valley, argan oil from Morocco and rosehip oil from Chile, each produced by women's groups or cooperatives.
Why are the tins 3.4 ounces?
That's the largest size allowed in carry-on luggage under TSA rules, so the oils can travel with you.
