Jean Marie Soulouque

Another talented member of the very talented Soulouque clan, Jean Marie's work is influenced heavily by his faith. Nearly every inch of usable space on the walls of his brightly colored shop are covered with religious imagery. He specialized in angels, nativities and scenes of Noah's ark, executing them with cleverly imagined composition and flawless detail. Though Haiti has a reputation for virtually nationwide practice of voodoo, nearly 90 percent of all Haitians consider themselves to be Catholic.

This metal sculpture is meant for display indoors or out, but if you choose to display yours outside, be aware that the protective, weather-proof coating will wear off over time. To keep your sculpture looking just like it did the day you bought it, take five minutes once a year to apply a spray-on clear enamel coating.
