This unique parachute document bag is constructed from a large piece of parachute fabric that had completed its original purpose. It is characterized by being lightweight and strong. Although they look very similar, the materials are a mixture of two types: ripstop fabric, which is woven with threads in a grid pattern to prevent tears, and non-rip fabric, which is plain woven.
Puebco has developed several products that combine this fabric with handles made from recycled dead stock and used industrial belts. The material was found in a town in India in an area where military surplus goods are distributed. Puebco's founder and designer visited a small specialty store where used fabrics were piled up to the ceiling. Guided by the man in the store, he climbed up the huge pile of fabric and moved through it, searching for something that was neither this nor that. Puebco's founder has an attachment to this material that cannot be expressed in words, as he have spent hours struggling with it, as if exploring a cave.
