Despite its name, the plant typically lives 10 to 30 years, producing a dramatic flowering stalk only once in its lifetime. After blooming, the parent plant dies, leaving behind new growth that carries its legacy forward. Inspired by the sculptural form of this iconic desert plant, this oxidized steel botanical panel captures its bold geometry and enduring character.
