Passion Lilie sets out to make fair trade clothing more stylish, better fitting and affordable, while paying artisans fair living wages.

The story

Katie Schmidt founded Passion Lilie in New Orleans in 2013, and the clothing is still designed there.

The clothes are made in India by partner producer groups in Bangalore, Jaipur, Tirupur and Hyderabad. Artisans block print and screen print fabrics by hand, weave ikat and sew the finished pieces, and scarves are handwoven in the Kutch region of Gujarat.

Passion Lilie's block printing unit is run by Padmini, who partnered with a state women's welfare board to offer free block printing training to women. The brand is a member of the Fair Trade Federation.
