The story
Cera Muchiri began the work behind Ecodunia in 2019 and formally established the company in 2021. It sells from a store in Chicago and makes its products in Kenya.
Production runs through a workshop in Nairobi's Eastlands and a woman-owned cotton mill in Thika, with cotton farmers, weavers, leather tanners and tailors all part of the chain. Ecodunia uses cotton from small-scale farmers, canvas, leather and offcuts of kitenge fabric.
A portion of Ecodunia's profits pays for girls' education in rural Kenya. It joined the Fair Trade Federation in 2025.
