Zerobarracento designs zero-waste clothing meant to outlast seasonal trends, made in Italy with traceable, certified materials.
The story
Designer Camilla Carrara, from Milan, launched Zerobarracento after finishing her degree in 2015 and showed the first collection in Berlin in January 2016. The name joins 'zero,' for zero waste, with 'cento,' for 100% made in Italy.
Patterns are cut to avoid the roughly 15% of fabric usually wasted at the design stage, and garments skip buttons, zips and hooks so they're easier to recycle. Fabrics come from Italian mills, including recycled wool from Manteco and GOTS-certified organic wool from Lanificio Zignone.
Zerobarracento has mapped 62% of its supply chain in digital product passports and has signed the UNECE Sustainability Pledge for the garment and footwear sector. It doesn't hold a fair trade certification. The Labour Movement vetted it against our fair trade standards before listing it.

About Zerobarracento
Is Zerobarracento fair trade?
Zerobarracento doesn't hold a fair trade certification. It makes its clothing in Italy with traceable, certified materials, and The Labour Movement vetted it against our fair trade standards before listing it. We review every brand each year.
What does zero waste mean at Zerobarracento?
Patterns are designed so almost no fabric is cut away, and garments use the fabric's finished edges as a design feature instead of buttons, zips or hooks, which makes them easier to recycle.
Where are Zerobarracento clothes made?
In Italy, with fabrics from Italian mills in textile districts such as Biella and Prato.
