The story

Fab Habitat grew out of a family business that made mats in India. The family moved to New Jersey and founded Fab Habitat there in 2009.

Its range centers on rugs, doormats and pillows made from recycled plastic, recycled polyester, wool and natural coir. Its recycled plastic outdoor rugs, recycled polyester rugs, wool rugs and most of its recycled plastic outdoor pillows are certified by GoodWeave, which works to stop child labour in global supply chains.

Fab Habitat says its products follow fair trade principles, with no child, forced or bonded labour and no harmful chemicals or dyes. It also supports the Navjeevan Society in Aurangabad, India.
