Darzah preserves Palestinian tatreez embroidery and creates jobs, training and fair income for women in the West Bank.
The story
Darzah, Arabic for 'stitch,' is a project of Child's Cup Full, a nonprofit social enterprise based in Zababdeh, a village in the northern West Bank.
Women artisans hand-embroider each piece with tatreez, a Palestinian embroidery tradition passed down by women for centuries. Skilled shoe and bag makers in Al-Khalil (Hebron) help design the products, using leather from a family-run manufacturer in the same region.
Purchases fund artisan salaries, employment programs and job training in the West Bank. Darzah is a member of the Fair Trade Federation.

About Darzah
Is Darzah fair trade?
Yes. Darzah is a member of the Fair Trade Federation, which screens whole businesses against nine fair trade principles before accepting them. The Labour Movement also vetted Darzah before listing it, and we review every brand each year.
What is tatreez?
Traditional Palestinian embroidery, mostly in cross-stitch, passed down through generations of women. Motifs often reflect a particular region or village.
Who makes Darzah products?
Women artists in the West Bank, many from refugee and low-income families, embroider each piece. Shoe and bag makers in Al-Khalil (Hebron) craft the leather.
